Talk: Brigg & District Gardening Club
Last Thursday I had a most enjoyable time at the Methodist Church Hall, Brigg giving a talk on Gardens, Plants & Bees to the Brigg & District Gardening Club. The talk combines my passion for gardens and mine & John’s hobby of keeping honey bees with an interest in wild bees. I talked about how bees percieve the world, what they need and what we as gardeners can do to aid the plight of the bee. I included information on usefull plants through the year to both bees and gardener. I ended the talk with a discussion on what a loveley flower bed display Brigg has but how it is of little use to bees, using the example of the Caistor in Bloom team who have endeavoured to expand the range of plants used to include shrubs & perennials.
Club members enjoying tea & buscuits after my talk.

Finally I saw this notice in the ladies and thought others might be interested.
What a great idea.
